I’m your hometown lawyer. I don’t live in the valley and my face isn’t on a billboard on the way to the Bay Area. I’ve been a courtroom lawyer in Sonora for almost 30 years, I had a daughter in each of our high schools, and I’ve served on local non-profit boards of directors related to general philanthropy, local sports and affordable housing. You’ll see me carrying a basket at the Sonora Farmers Market on Summer Saturdays, waiting for a burrito at the Sonora Taqueria, squeezing my car into the parking spot for the hike up Blue Canyon, watching high school sports or ordering eggs benedict at the Sugar Shack and hoping for a table. I can help you better than somebody who lives where it’s foggy or whose face is on a highway sign.

I represent plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury, employment, real property and general litigation matters. My experience is much broader than that and I’ll often take on other matters.

I represent personal injury victims – lives fundamentally changed by an accident, whether for a few months, for a few years or forever. I started off as an insurance attorney and know the industry tricks, including that call you got about 3 weeks after the accident, offering to pay your medical bills and give you a couple thousand bucks. “Just sign here,” they’ll tell you.

Calling me is free. I’ll tell you if I think I can do better than the insurance company offer –I’ll also tell when to say “yes” and why.

This is another area, where I know both sides. I represent employees and employers regarding “wage and hour” law, which includes claims for unpaid overtime and missed breaks or for wrongful termination.

Employment cases are often a matter of simple math and knowing quirks in the law that favor employees and hurt employers.

I represent clients on many sides of any real property dispute you can imagine, including the wide variety of easements that California recognizes, property line disputes, encroachments, trespass, liens, nuisance, and dangerous premises. Aside from dangerous premises cases, I charge an hourly fee in these types of matters.

I represent clients in general litigation matters, which include the above legal areas, as well as anything else that is, or may end up, in Court. In these cases, I also charge by the hour.
